DriveAwayPrice is published by Dealadesk Pty Ltd, in Queensland, Australia. This notice covers driveawayprice.com.au and nothing else.
Reading the site collects nothing
There is no advertising on this site, no analytics, and no cookie. You can read every review and every explainer without giving us anything.
One thing does leave the page. Each page loads two typefaces from Google Fonts, which means Google receives the internet address of the device asking for them. That is the only third party any page on this site reaches.
What the enquiry form collects
If you send us an enquiry, we collect:
- your name and your email address, which the form requires;
- your phone number, your postcode, the car you are looking at, and your note, if you choose to give them;
- the page you sent the enquiry from;
- the internet address the enquiry came from.
The internet address is kept for one reason. The Spam Act 2003 puts the burden of proving consent on whoever sends a marketing message, and an address recorded at the moment consent was given cannot be reconstructed afterwards.
What we do with it
We use your enquiry to answer it. A person reads it.
We do not pass your enquiry to a dealership, or to anybody else, without asking you first. If that ever changes, this page changes with it and you will be asked before anything is sent.
The two tick boxes
Email and text are asked for separately, and neither is required to send an enquiry. Leaving both unticked does not stop us replying to you: a reply to your own enquiry is not marketing.
You can withdraw either one at any time, by replying to any message we send you or by writing to privacy@driveawayprice.com.au. Every marketing email we send carries an unsubscribe link, which the Spam Act requires.
Where it is kept
In Australia. The database is in Sydney.
Our email runs on Microsoft 365, so a reply we send you passes through Microsoft's systems the way any email passes through a mail provider.
How long we keep it
While we are dealing with your enquiry, and afterwards only for as long as we have a reason to. Ask us to delete it and we will, unless a law requires us to keep a record of it.
Getting a copy, and corrections
Write to privacy@driveawayprice.com.au. You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will answer within 30 days.
Complaints
Write to privacy@driveawayprice.com.au first, and we will look into it. If we have not sorted it out, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner takes privacy complaints at oaic.gov.au, or on 1300 363 992.
